Babylon BABY Airdrop

Babylon has launched airdrop registration! If you have previously participated in activities from the project, make sure to register so that you don't miss the Airdrop. 

Eligibility Criteria

1. Phase 1 Stakers
   
   • Stakers who participated in Phase 1 staking up to the closure of Cap 3 (up to and including BTC block height 875087), including both accepted and overflow stakes.
   • To recognize early supporters, those Pioneer Pass NFT holders that staked during Phase-1 can be eligible for an additional allocation in the airdrop. A snapshot of NFT holders was taken at Polygon block 68305555 (around 7:15AM UTC 24/Feb/2025).
2. Phase 1 Finality Providers
   
   • Finality Providers that registered on Babylon Github and received delegations during Phase-1.
3. Contributors to eligible Github repositories:
   
   • We wish to recognize and reward contributions to open-source work across various categories, including Cosmos, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Shared Security, Cryptography, Zero Knowledge, and BitVM. Babylon project has 2 new roles in Discord - Dragon Egg and Loong Staker. The first role can be obtained by everyone for completing simple tasks. The Loong Staker role can be obtained only by users who staked BTC in one of the Babylon staking phases.

A new testnet (bbn-test-5) launched on January 8, 2025, it will include the launch of the Babylon PoS and Signet Bitcoin test chain. For this testnet you will need OKX and Keplr wallets.

Babylon has launched part 3 of the staking program! The staking window of BTC will last for about a week (1000 blocks), so everyone can participate in this program!

Babylon announced the launch of the 2nd part of the staking program. Unlike the first part, we have the opportunity to deposit from 0.005 to 500 BTC. Cap-2 will be a duration-based cap that will last 10 BTC blocks, starting from height 864790. This means that all valid Bitcoin staking transactions that are included in BTC block 864790 to 864799 (inclusive) will be accepted by the system, without any TVL cap. The tentative start time for cap-2 is October 8, 20:00 GMT, so we recommend preparing in advance.

Babylon has announced a staking campaign on the main network that will start on August 22nd tentatively at 12:00 (UTC). The staking will be FCFS (first come, first served), so it's important to prepare in advance to participate in this campaign.

4. When the campaign starts, stake your BTC here. As a reminder, tentatively this will be available on August 22 at 12:00 (UTC).

• The pool will have a limit of 1,000 BTC
• Withdrawals from staking are available at any time and will take 7 days to complete
• The more BTC you deposit, the more points you will get
• It will be possible to participate in this campaign in the following phases as well

For some tasks you will need test tokens. You can find out how to get them in the previous step.

The new testnet (bbn-test-4) will focus on the security of the staked Bitcoins by testing the user’s interaction with the BTC Signet test network. You will need OKX and Keplr wallets for this testnet.

Key Features

• This testnet will only involve BTC Signet test network without a Babylon PoS test chain.
• Simplified interaction: Bitcoin stakers can stake, unbond, and withdraw by submitting the corresponding transactions to BTC Signet test network via the staking web dapp.
• No slashing: Bitcoin stakers are not requested to sign any slashing related authorisations, which means slashing will be disabled.
• No PoS reward: Since there is no Babylon PoS test chain, the test staking reward feature will not be applicable.
• No voting: For the same reason, finality providers will only need to publish their EOTS public key to allow stake delegation. They do not need to actively maintain any programs (such as node and finality provider daemons)
