FIFA confirms May 20 migration of NFT platform to EVM blockchain, replacing Algorand with MetaMask wallet support.
  • FIFA confirms Collect will move from Algorand to EVM-compatible chain on May 20.
  • MetaMask and WalletConnect wallets will replace Pera and Defly post migration.
  • FIFA President signals digital token plans alongside platform’s blockchain overhaul.

FIFA has confirmed that its FIFA Collect digital collectibles platform will migrate to the EVM-compatible FIFA Blockchain on May 20.

The upgrade is expected to improve scalability and transaction performance, according to FIFA’s official migration FAQ. FIFA said the transition will include a 10-hour platform outage, during which trading and wallet access will be temporarily unavailable.

Asset Transfers and User Action

All user assets will be automatically moved to the new EVM blockchain once the migration is complete. However, FIFA warned that any off-platform collectibles not re-imported by May 20 will become ineligible for trading.
