Huma Finance team secures $38M in funding for PayFi platform expansion involving tokenized real-world assets.

Tokenized RWAs: A Game-Changing Financial Instrument

Huma’s tokenized RWAs come in the form of multitranche bonds with different maturities issued by Arf Capital, a Switzerland-based company operating under Swiss DLT regulations. This provides a solid ground in terms of regulatory compliance, said Huma’s co-founder Erbil Karaman.

The funding will enable Huma to expand its PayFi platform to new blockchain ecosystems including Solana and Stellar’s Soroban smart-contract network. It expects to process $10 billion in payments-financing transactions next year.

Tokenized Real-World Assets: A Potential

Tokenized real-world assets represent a sea change in innovation within the financial services space: speedier settlement, far greater transparency, and operational efficiency. This is achieved through a process called tokenization, whereby assets-like bonds and credits-are moved onto distributed ledgers and reconstitute the way traditional financial systems operate.

In turn, Huma’s recent merger with Arf Capital develops a powerful joint platform that provides all-encompassing tokenized asset services. While both companies remain freestanding concerns, the merger opens up the possibility of the two firms collaborating on large-scale initiatives.

Industry Outlook: Tokenization Market Could Reach $1.3 Trillion by 2030

The tokenized asset market is growing rapidly, with industry experts projecting substantial growth over the next decade. Some estimates say that tokenized RWAs could reach as much as $30 trillion by 2030. More conservative analysts, like Jamie Coutts of Real Vision, estimate a rather modest valuation of $1.3 trillion at that time.

Nevertheless, despite such cross currents of projections, several major financial houses are forging ahead with tokenization in earnest. If all goes according to plan, Goldman Sachs will introduce no fewer than three new tokenization products this year, a testament to the growing interest in the technology among its institutional client base and even more so among its retail clients.

Conclusion

This $38 million funding round to Huma Finance anchors the important milestone in expanding its tokenized RWA-based PayFi platform. With tokenized real-world assets certainly gaining steam in the financial world, Huma is very well positioned to be a category leader and to push innovation and disruption in the evolution of payment financing through blockchain.
